Tax investigations - Tax fee protection insurance

HM Revenue & Customs investigations are becoming far more common than they have been in the past. There is much evidence to suggest that government agencies are actively seeking to investigate returns and accounts with the intent of raising significant amounts of extra taxes.

We therefore offer insurance to our clients against the professional costs of tax investigations such that in the event that their tax affairs are investigated by HM Revenue & Customs, our fees and those of legal experts will be covered when defending such an investigation.

A recent addition to the policy that we offer is protection against costs of ‘aspect enquiries’, where, in contrast to a full investigation, only a small aspect of a clients affairs are examined.
